Provenance:  According to family tradition this sideboard was originally owned by Stuart James Park (1773-1859) of Groton, Massachusetts.  An architect and builder, his works included the State Capitol building in Concord, N.H., circa 1812.  A typed card inside the top right drawer, and signed by Lawrence Park, states that the sideboard was “probably” bought by Stuart Park in 1812.
